July 25 - Fun Show, 9am, Infirmary Mound Park   show bill

July 27 - Monthly meeting, 7pm, Senior Building at Infirmary Mound Park snacks provided by Mary Baker

August 9 - Trail Maintenance - Dillon State Park, 9am,  contact Jim Corman 740-763-4154 email  We will be using 5 DR Mowers and meeting at the horse camping area.  To use the mowers efficiently we need a person running the mower and two people in front of the mower a good distance away clearing out logs or other heavy debris that might damage the mower.  We would like to have over 15 people working that day.  We also need people to do upper trimming that can't be done with the mowers.   Morgan County members are again coming to help us out.  Please bring chain saws and nippers.  It is wise to wear leather gloves because of nasty bushes that like to defend themselves from us!!!!   The club will be furnishing meat ( hamburgers, brats, and hot dogs) cooked over a grill for lunch at 2 p.m.  We are asking that you bring your table service, drinks, and potluck dish to share with others.  Come work, eat, and enjoy working with your fellow OHC members. 

August 14, 15, 16 - Trail Ride, 10am Saturday, 9am Sunday, Mohican State Forest hosted by Mark Stevens 740-345-1715 or 740-404-1861 email  reservations required  - contact Mark Stevens   The Theme for this weekend is Indian Heritage.  The food will be maze (cornbread) and buffalo meat (sausage).  If anyone can make a squash covered dish please let Mark know that you are able to do this.  Everyone else bring a covered dish or dessert.  On Saturday evening after the potluck we will have a contest for the best looking war paint on your horse or a person.  There will be prizes, games, and possibly music.

August 31 - Monthly meeting, 7pm, Special Event - Cathy Newlon, who offers Therapeutic Massage for your horse, was our guest speaker at the July monthly meeting and when she mentioned, “Cold Backed is a horse with back pain…” bells went off.  LCOHC is sponsoring Cathy for a demonstration of her skills at Infirmary Mound Park horse day parking area, at 7:00 pm in lieu of our normal meeting.  We will have a couple of horses there for Cathy to both demonstrate the good effects of proper horse adjustment and how to properly fit a saddle.  This is education we all can use.  Bring your lawn chair, a note pad, your camera, and join us for an educational evening.  This is open to all LCOHC members.   snacks provided by Lucy Cotterman & Jan Dean
